Naturally Based Cleaning
“People’s interest is growing around green cleaning products that have less impact on individual health and the environment than conventional ones.”
-Medical News Today (1)
According to the World Health Organization,
“Surfaces should always be cleaned with soap and water or a detergent to remove organic matter first, followed by disinfection.”

“Routine cleaning performed effectively with soap or detergent, at least once per day, can substantially reduce virus levels on surfaces.”
CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky. (3)
Cleaning with products containing soap or detergent reduces germs on surfaces by removing contaminants and may also weaken or damage some of the virus particles, which decreases risk of infection from surfaces.”
Center for Disease Control (4)
“Also called sanitation theater or cleaning theater, hygiene theater is a term used to describe the practice of extreme washing to give off the feeling of improved safety without actually lowering the risk of catching an illness.”

“Science-Proven Microbial Control states “eliminating the risks of highly volatile chemical disinfectants for a greener, safer, and more effective solution has been at the core of our ongoing research and development. Through Science-Proven Microbial Control® our licensees are able to reduce the presence of harmful germs and pathogens on surfaces without excessive disinfecting practices.”

“Believe it or not, some chemicals found in cleaners and disinfectants can actually make bacteria stronger and harder to tackle. Biocides, for example, are used at a low level in many disinfectants to kill microbes. However, these components can make bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus—a common cause of infections and, even, MRSA—increasingly biocide-resistant. And this can make killing harmful microbes harder and harder.”

Not only sickness wise, but also increased risk of toxic effects for the user and those with increased health risks. Including well-known research on the most significant factor airborne pathogens linked to COVID-19.
Because of this, the small frequency we are actually in/effect your home on a larger scale, and the extent of our capacity of work in your home, we , and other natural businesses as well choose to attack more on the side of hygiene in our cleaning vs the more time-consuming and complex side of proper “disinfecting” that is majorly needing to be denoted to those inhabiting the microbiome.
Again, please view the articles for how it all ties together and more in depth-on this.
In our “products” we use the botanical oil components of thyme and pine, as our disinfectant active ingredients and antimicrobial properties.
If you would like to know specifically how we make our “products”, please reach out to us and we’d be happy to share.
Fragrances- As much as we love aromatherapy, essential oils, and those elements that revolve around natural “fragrancing”, they just don’t really last on surfaces or in the air. Many people have a sensitivity, therefore we choose to clean with little to none.
We do understand the psychology around a clean smelling home especially after we come, and tap into it when appropriate/requested per client, but overall our clean is still very clean without “scents”.

Our Efforts in Sustainability
As Kingdom Kleaning continues to grow and expand with the ever developing world around us, we will continue to increase our sustainability efforts for environment and human health.
Here is a starter list on some of the ways we are contributing this this area:
Using only products that are eco friendly, safer, and biodegradable for the earth and our water ecosystems.
- Using only reusable supplies in all areas. Replacing such items as magic erasers, swiffer dusters, and paper towels, and one fill cleaning chemicals/bottles with cloths and a non-harmful “whitening” agent, washable microfiber dusters, reusable “paper towel” like cloths. (magic erasers and swiffer dusters are not very biodegradable at all)
Remaking our formulas instead of a one time fill store bought item.
- Using quality equipment to increase longevity, therefore reducing manufacturing waste and landfill use.
- Turning off lights when not in room’s, having low water usage, and using natural light whenever possible in clients homes.
- Attempting to use all supplies that are environmentally consciously made with sustainable practices. Buying in bulk to reduce packaging and shipping effects like petroleum consumption and carbon emission.
- Broadcast through social media and online about how to be more sustainable. (more upcoming)
- Eventual plans upon growth to donate back to sustainable non-profit events or organizations.
- Continuing to invest time to learn more about organizations that have led in this area such as the American Sustainable Business Network, and Green America as well as consistently updating/checking back in our practices.
(please see the American Sustainable Business Network for their “Greenwashing” guide as well!)
We also follow the Environmental Working Group’s guides for product and ingredient information and ratings)
- Making sure our products are less harmful/toxic on the body or our cleaners and clients.
- Major simplifying of what we use/bring into homes, as well as how we clean, to make it more sustainable on our cleaners body’s and minds to put our best foot forward.
- Attempting to filter our business as whole to be healthy, hiring employees vs contractors who are well rounded, healthy individuals for our team and clients homes whom we support, encourage, value, and pay 30% higher than average.
